Data Deletion Request

Last updated: 10 July 2026

You can have your personal data — or an entire restaurant account — deleted from Dinor. This page explains exactly what gets removed, what the law makes us keep, and how to ask.

1. How to request deletion

Email hqdinor@gmail.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request" and:

  • Restaurant owners: send the request from the email address registered on the account, naming the business to delete.
  • Staff members: include the phone number you sign in with and the restaurant you work(ed) at. We may confirm with the account owner, since they created the account.
  • Diners: include the phone number you entered at the table and, if you can, the restaurant and approximate date — that's how we locate your records. You can also ask the restaurant directly; the data belongs to your relationship with them.

We verify every request against the contact details on record before acting — we will never delete an account on an unverified request.

2. What gets deleted

  • Full account deletion (owners): the organization and everything under it — branches, menus and uploaded images, tables and QR codes, staff accounts, dining areas, session history and support tickets. QR codes stop resolving immediately.
  • Staff deletion: the staff profile and sign-in; order records they handled remain part of the restaurant's business history without their profile.
  • Diner deletion: your name and phone number are removed or anonymised in our records; the underlying order/bill amounts remain in the restaurant's books as anonymous transactions.

3. What we must keep

Billing and payment records (invoices, subscription payments, tax-relevant bill totals) are retained for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require, even after account deletion — stripped of whatever personal detail isn't legally necessary. Records may also persist briefly in encrypted backups, which cycle out within 90 days of deletion.

4. Timelines & consequences

  • We acknowledge requests within a few business days and complete verified deletions within 30 days.
  • Deletion is permanent and irreversible — there is no undo or grace period once completed.
  • Any time remaining on a paid plan is forfeited without refund (see the Refund Policy), so export any reports you need from the dashboard first.
